Last week, our Shero CEO, Shequeta L. Smith, had the incredible honor of being recognized by the Los Angeles Lakers and Comerica Bank at the Women’s Business Awards! Shequeta was named the Woman of Diversity, an award that celebrates women who serve as role models and breakthrough agents in our multicultural city of Los Angeles.
The recognition took place during pregame at Crypto.com Arena before the Lakers took on the Miami Heat, and the energy in that building was unforgettable!
This award holds is special because it reflects the essence of what the Shero Comics brand is all about: empowering diverse voices, breaking barriers, and inspiring future generations to dream big and create boldly.
The journey to this moment hasn’t been easy—it’s been fueled by hard work, persistence, and a deep belief in the power of storytelling to create real change. Through Shero, Shequeta has had the privilege of celebrating women and girls of color as heroes of their own stories and fostering spaces where they can see themselves as leaders, creators, and innovators.
